April 12th: There is a growing interest in wellness initiatives at more
and more companies. Employee health care expenses have been growing at a high rate and are going to continue to go up rapidly,
so companies are trying harder to help employees improve their health and therefore lower expenses. The biggest problem in
these wellness programs is a lack of participation. Most people don't want to take the time or make the effort to eat better
and exercise because both of those things are so hard to do.
I am going to focus on helping people. We will lose weight, look better, feel better, and improve
our health. What I do that is different from most is make things easier. What we have been told regarding eating right is
often wrong and exercise has been made too difficult. Just think: if I can show how these things are easier than we have been
told so more people can do them, wow.
Stick with me, because I am going to do it along with you.
March 24th: Today in the Chicago Tribune is an article about the Chicago
shool's removing reducing nachos, doughnuts, cookies, Pop-Tarts, and sugary cereals from future menus. There is a picture
of a cute young girl eating a donut and Frosted Flakes. Well...we are about 20 years into the reality of being fat and making
our kids fat, and we are still feeding our kids this junk. The kids are getting fatter and fatter with all kinds of negative
effects on lives, and it is still going on. This is our fault. It is not the fault of the kids. We pay the school administrators
to do this for our kids. We are stupid...and soon I will move on to positive suggestions on how to help things, but right
now I am going crazy. I will go hit the treadmill and calm down...
December 16th: There was an article in yesterday's Chicago Tribune about food
firms being faulted for ads to TV kids. Ads about junk food. Too many ads after promises from the industry to do less of it.
But here is a major, big time announcement to those who don't know: if you don't want your kids viewing such ads, not to mention
viewing the drivel of the shows the ads sponsor, don't let your kids watch TV.
November 17th: Today Emory University's School of Public Health announced some
shocking news about obesity...but not shocking to me. The report predicts our obesity crises will continue to get worse. By
2018 (not all that long from now my friends) 43% of the populations will be obese. The cost to treat this will be $344 billion.
Per year. We will not only have serious health problems, we will be broke!
Stick with me as I take us through some things we can do to not let this obesity issue happen
to us and those we care about. That is what I am doing here, to a degree. What I do is help people feel good about themselves
as a result of taking better care of themselves. The result is better health...and less wieght. The weight loss is not the
goal. Being what we can be is. The weight goes away along the way.
> We need to eat right. We all know that. Way too many people are over-weight and at
risk of health problems as a result of bad eating habits.
> We have been told and told and told how to eat right, but a lot of what we have been told
is wrong or hard to do. Today we start, and we make it easy.
> Don't eat fat. Period. End of story. Please click on the "Fat: Don't Eat It!" page
for specifics.
